Praise Communications is Back on the Air
Please help us get the word out! What a joy it is to be back on the air! Thank you to Metro Radio for extending the offer! We accepted and began broadcasting on November 19, 2009, just in time for Thanksgiving! Metro Radio completed the power increase we began, and now the station is 8,000 watts with better coverage toward Washington, DC.
If financial support is sufficient, plans are to continue broadcasting over WKDL 1250 AM in addition to our new forthcoming FM. We can use the station to provide programming that is not currently available in our area through new programs such as “Country Light,” our new country music program that airs weekday afternoons from 1 to 2 p.m. You’ll hear music from Randy Travis and a bit of bluegrass from artists such as Ricky Skaggs, and a bit of Mac Powell - yes from Third Day - from his Glory Revealed CDs. Already we’re getting requests from country music fans to play more of this “roots” music. Country music is big in this area so it is fitting that a Christian country music program be made available. If there is enough financial support and interest, perhaps eventually, all the music on WKDL could be country! What do you think? Let us hear from you!!

Boxes Collected at WPRZ for Operation Christmas Child
It was another great year participating in this incredible project for Samaritan’s Purse. Special thanks to everyone who participated with a very special thank you to Shirley and Ed Nicodemus and Kandy Flippo for their incredible work packing the cartons and keeping track of the sign-in sheets and numbers.
These kids wanted their picture taken in the truck that was almost full. What a happy group!

We extended our Collection Week to 8 days to include Monday, Nov. 23, and wow… the big room was filled up by noon! Lots more work but lots more boxes too! |

What fun the kids from Culpeper Methodist Church had unloading their bus, and what a great job they did! |
It takes a lot of muscle power to get the fully packed cartons loaded onto the truck! Thank the Lord for strong men! |
Building WPRZ 88.1 FM is Underway!
We are so pleased to tell you that after an 11 year wait, the FCC has issued Praise Communications, Inc., a Construction Permit to build a new FM radio station to be licensed to Brandy Station.
It is interesting that during the Civil War the little town of Brandy Station gave its name to the largest Cavalry battle ever to take place in the entire Western hemisphere on June 9, 1863. Over 17,000 mounted cavalry men did battle near there with General Pleasanton commanding the North, and General Jeb Stuart commanding the South in the Battle of Brandy Station.
It seems right and fitting that Brandy Station will be the city of license for our FM. It will be used to do battle in a different way in the biggest battle in the history of mankind - the battle between God and Satan for the souls of men, women and children!!
We hope you will be a part of building this station with us. You can do that by praying for the engineers as they work on designing and building the antenna, transmitter, and all the other things that will go into this project. WPRZ FM will be available to the entire world to hear over our forth-coming new website being developed by the award-winning team at TriNet. WPRZ FM will be presented as a national radio station with a local feel.
Another way you can be a part is by sending in a special gift to be used for this project. Expenses for the engineers, transmitter and antenna design alone will be well over $100,000. We hope you will come along side us and help! Thank you for doing what God puts on your heart to do!
Could This Be the Land for Our Future Kid’s Camp?
During Operation Christmas Child week, Bruce Houston, the new owner of 1250 AM, and his son David, took us to see the land they have for sale just 15-20 minutes from the station. It’s 125 acres in Prince William County that Metro Radio bought for an antenna site.
However, after they cleared 15 acres in the center of the property and put in roads and trails, events occurred that made it so they no longer needed the property for that purpose. The land, along with the one million dollar’s worth of improvements they made to it, would be perfect for a Kid’s Camp! Mr. Houston offered to sell the property to us for that purpose for 1.2 million, which is almost half price. Please pray about this with us. It would take a miracle to raise that kind of money now in addition to what is needed for the Praise Radio Stations. Then more funds would be needed to build the actual camp!! If this is what God wants, He will make a way. If not, He will close the door. The land is up for sale to the public now for two million dollars. Please join us in prayer about this, that God will reveal His plan to us concerning the property!
